The stain grade solid Alder doors have been installed ahead of the sheetrock because we are not using casing for a clean modern finish.    All of the floors are polished concrete – therefore they are now being protected with cardboard until after paint is completed.     The foam insulation is started and will be fully encapsulated for maximum insulation value.

The sheetrock has been stocked and ready for installation.

The home is wired for cameras and security.

The finishes are being selected and designed including the cabinets and millwork.

The schedule is finalized for the underground propane tank, Aerobic septic, and drilling of the well.

We plan to complete the home in November, 2025.

So, what’s next for Westford Builders? We intend to create a very contemporary modern home:

1. Very large windows to take-in the distant views from a hill-top site.
2. High ceilings that work with the windows to bring the outdoors inside. The feeling of spaciousness is real.
3. Tasteful balance of stone and stucco on the exterior.
4. Stone walls on the inside add texture to your living experience.
5. Polished concrete floors throughout – just add rugs…
6. Accent paints and stains.
7. Combination of flat and pitched roofs.
8. Five bedrooms, five baths, study, dining, Family Room kitchen, scullery kitchen.
9. Three car garage.

For after all, in 40+ years we have never built the same home twice.

Elizabeth and I had lived in a sailboat in Boston Harbor in 1983-84 and had been in the burgeoning high-tech industry there. Elizabeth spent years in California and I was raised in Texas. We came to Arlington to build houses together. It was hot so tennis clothes seemed appropriate. I had a mobile phone (not a CELL phone as they weren’t invented yet), and a 24k Radio Shack Model 100 with which I could make lists or write letters then immediately print them since there was no memory to save. Elizabeth began with her mind full of ideas – which was the beginning and the foundation of our business.

In the years that followed we have designed & built hundreds of homes, commercial buildings, remodels and renovations, institutional projects, and a large downtown development (Trinity Bluff in Downtown Fort Worth.)

The concept of recording our projects always seemed too expensive to slowdown and undertake because we have been steadily busy in good cycles and during the downturns in the market. In our fortieth year, we have decided to record some of our finest work as we endeavor to continue to create new product born out of a vast experience.

So, celebrating our fortieth anniversary in the business in Spring, 2024, we began referring to our endeavor as” Tom and Elizabeth 4.0.” We are investing in the photography of a few of our finest works. In the months to follow and, we pray, for years to come, we plan to publish photography in our Web-site to celebrate the projects as well as the relationships/friendships that we have developed over the years. Protecting the privacy of our clients of course in the process. There are several on the site newly downloaded and many more to come.
